In Q2 2024, affiliate marketing saw significant changes. There was a strong balance in supply and demand, leading to more campaigns and increased traffic.
Despite higher clicks, sales and conversions dipped towards the quarter's end. Klaviyo's email marketing remained highly effective, with more affiliates adopting this channel. Bing, Yahoo!, and DuckDuckGo showed potential for better conversions but remain under-utilized. LinkedIn saw significant activity, suggesting growth potential, while performance on Meta platforms lagged, indicating a need for strategy reevaluation. The Health & Wellness sector continued strong.
For Q3, focusing on effective channels and revisiting underused platforms is advised to boost campaign performance.
Key Findings:
- 31 different channels were attributed with generating clicks, down from 32 in Q1.
- 23 different channels were attributed to generating sales, same as Q1.
- YouTube is still the most under-indexed Big 5 channel for active affiliates running
- Google - and search, in general - continue to plough along with incredible consistency.
- There are 58% more campaigns running on the platform than last Q2, with 77% more traffic generating affiliates, showing a strong supply and demand marketplace.
